Radio 3 Listeners' Award in the British Composer Awards 2007 - DAI FUJIKURA

Dai Fujikura has been placed on a list of shortlisted nominations for the BBC Radio 3 Listeners' Award category of the British Composer Awards for his work Crushing Twister. This is the Award voted on by Radio 3 Listeners for their work of the broadcast year 06-07.

The public voting for this year's Listeners Award has started on-line on the Radio3 web-site  and will run till 2nd of Nov midnight.  

You can vote for Dai either by ringing 08700 100 300  (calls are at national rate) or by logging onto the BCA page on the BBC Radio 3 website http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/newmusic/britishcomposerawards.shtml

The 2007 British Composer Awards, presented by the British Academy of Composers and Songwriters in association with Radio 3, will take place on Wednesday 5 December, 2007 at the Glazier's Hall. Click here for further information about the Listeners' Award.

 

VENICE BIENNALE 2007 CLOSING CONCERT – Liza Lim

CASSINI VOID in New York’s Carnegie Hall – Ian Wilson

Ian’s new 20-minute concerto for clarinet and 10 instruments Cassini Void, commissioned by soloist Carol McGonnell with funds from the Arts Council of Ireland, will receive its world premiere on Sunday October 14th this year in New York’s Carnegie Hall, in a concert of contemporary Irish music given by the Argento ensemble. This will be Ian’s second work this year in the prestigious venue, his saxophone quartet Ghosts having been given its US premiere there last April by the Amstel Quartet.

Ross Edwards for Piano Trio (Instrumental work of the Year) and Liza Lim, Flying Banner (Orchestral work of the Year) received their awards at the 2007 Classical Music Awards, presented by APRA and the Australian Music Centre in September. Click here for more details.
